The CREW’S WHO

My favourite cafe, the St Martin’s, is only a few minutes from a train stop, but it is on a side-street, and coffee nuts and rowdies never seem to find their way there, even on Saturday morning.

Its clientele, though fairly large, consists mostly of ‘regulars’ who occupy the same chair every day and go there for streaming sunshine as much as for the cheer.

If you are asked why you favour a particular cafe, it would seem natural to put the coffee first, but the thing that most appeals to me about the St. Martin's is what people call its ‘atmosphere’.
